Some years pass with little notice. Others leave a lasting impression. For Inovor, 2025 has been one of those defining years...
As we reflect on the milestones achieved and the capabilities we continue to build, one thing remains constant for certain: our progress is driven by our people.
Over the past year, Inovor has grown to a team of more than 60 individuals. Each brings deep expertise, discipline, and a strong commitment to the missions and projects they support. It is this collective effort that enables us to consistently deliver high-quality outcomes and take on increasingly complex challenges.
Recently, as we marked our 13th anniversary at Inovor headquarters, it was an opportunity to reflect on how far the organisation has come and, just as importantly, the opportunities that lie ahead. Our team continues to challenge established approaches, innovate with purpose, and pursue missions that once seemed beyond reach.
Together, these efforts underpin our continued delivery today and position Inovor strongly for the years ahead. We remain focused on building capability, delivering impact, and supporting the people who make it all possible.
Mission Successes
SpIRIT
748 days and counting
Our SpIRIT satellite, developed in collaboration with the University of Melbourne and the Italian Space Agency, sent back stunning “space selfies”. SpIRIT’s success stands as a testament to collaboration, innovation, and the ambition to push beyond perceived limits with Australian ingenuity now firmly in orbit.
Kanyini
488 days and counting
Kanyini reached phenomenal heights as Australia’s first state government-funded satellite mission. 2025 marked a key milestone as Kanyini released its first images for public viewing. As the mission reached its full-circle moment, we look back with immense pride at everything it has accomplished and the legacy it leaves behind.
Buccaneer
277 days and counting
Buccaneer has successfully deployed its 3.2-metre cross-shaped antenna (more than 10 times the size of the CubeSat itself) marking the 1st known successful use of a liquid lens in space. The team also deployed the MANTIS system (“space selfie stick”), capturing self-images from orbit and demonstrating cutting-edge deployable technology.
Partnership Highlights
LEO Satellite Partnership with Optus: We’re proud to be building a sovereign Australian satellite as part of the Optus-led consortium. This Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite will enhance communications capability and flaunt the strength of Australian industry partnerships. Read More.
JDA: IHI and Meisei Electric (Japan): Signed at IAC 2025 Sydney, this agreement marks a significant step in Australia-Japan space alliance. Together, we aim to develop a satellite supporting maritime domain awareness (MDA) and joint innovation between both party nations. Read More.
MOU: Rhea Space Activities (United States): Signed at IAC 2025 Sydney, this MOU explores commercial opportunities in Australia and the US and assesses the feasibility of a future partnership that combines the strengths of both organisations to advance innovation coherence for both nations. Read More.
MOU: Space BD (Japan): Signed at IAC 2025 Sydney, the MOU sets the stage for shared opportunity between Australia and Japan. With Austrade’s Leo Bremanis witnessing the moment, it became clear that this collaboration is the beginning of a story still being written for the two nations. Read More.
Partnership with The University of Adelaide: Inovor and the University of Adelaide announced a collaboration on a super-resolution approach for Earth imaging in space which combines advanced optics and AI processing to deliver more detailed, cost-effective imagery in small satellites. Read More.
MOU: Star Signal Solutions (Japan): Witnessed by Australian diplomatic representatives and JAXA officials, the ceremony highlighted Australia and Japan’s growing partnership to advance commercial opportunities and share emerging space technologies. Read More.
Expanding Our Capabilities
In April, we officially opened our state-of-the-art cleanroom facility in Lot Fourteen, Adelaide, further strengthening our end-to-end satellite manufacturing and integration capabilities. This purpose-built space is now home to multiple concurrent satellite builds, supporting both commercial and defence missions. Read More.
We also introduced FUSION, our novel hosted mission payload rideshare program, designed to open space access to more organisations than ever before. Read More.
In an era where outer space grows even busier, we are crafting something rather extraordinary. Hyperion, our emerging SSA satellite constellation seamlessly integrates with our AI technology that helps the spacecraft identify objects precisely and navigate its way through. Its purpose is simple, yet vital: to help keep space safe, navigable, and sustainable for all who venture into it, from defence partners to commercial explorers across the globe. Thanks to the support from the Industry Growth Program this year, Hyperion will journey from concept to creation. Read More.
Investing In Our Future
We’re proud to provide hands-on opportunities for emerging talent to learn, grow, and help shape Australia’s next generation of space professionals:
Our 2026 Graduate Intake
I have recently graduated from University of Adelaide (soon to be Adelaide University), with Bachelors in Mathematical Sciences (Applied Mathematics) and Mechanical Engineering (Aerospace). I am really excited to join Inovor as a graduate. When I saw the alert come through from SEEK that there was a graduate opening at Inovor I could not have applied more quickly. I first heard about Inovor through word-of-mouth whispers at uni, and was drawn to the chance to do work that is both cool and challenging, and aligned with the courses I had found most interesting at uni. I will be joining Mitchell Kracman’s Modelling and Simulation team on the defence side of the company, and I am looking forward to getting to sink my teeth into some meaningful work to benefit the CoA. A quick personal fact – I absolutely love footy and Taylor Swift. Although I must warn everyone that I will talk your ear off about either if given the chance.
As a recent graduate of the University of Adelaide where I studied a Bachelor of Computer Science majoring in Artificial Intelligence. I was drawn to Inovor because of the company’s focus on creating cutting-edge Australian technology and the opportunity to contribute to work that is technical, collaborative, and has real-world impact. I’ll be joining the Defence Modelling and Simulation Team, where I’m excited to work across various defence projects and learn more about aerospace, maritime and electronic warfare. I’m particularly looking forward to developing my skills in modelling and simulation, working with data, and applying problem solving into simulation environments. I am most excited to contribute to projects that have a tangible impact on the Australian Defence Force and expanding my knowledge working alongside the Inovor team. A fun fact about me is that I’ve been a lifelong swimmer, and over the past few years I’ve helped more than 500 kids learn how to swim.
I am Radee, a University of Adelaide graduate who studied a Master of Philosophy and previously a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Mathematical and Computer Sciences. Space has always excited me as a place with so many unexplored aspects and room for innovation, which is why I am excited to work for Inovor, a company leading this sector in Australia. Working here will give me probably one of the most stimulating transitions out of university that I could have hoped for. I’ll be working with Hayden’s team in Edinburgh as a Modelling and Simulation Engineer and am very keen to get stuck into applying many of the things I’ve learnt at university as well as getting the opportunity to learn a bunch more! Beyond work or study, one of my biggest passions is music. I myself play the electric guitar (I am particularly fond of progressive metal and technical death metal) and regularly seek out opportunities to go to concerts, whether they be classical, metal or jazz.

Looking Ahead: Our Vision for 2026
2026 promises to be another year of exciting progress and expansion for Inovor Technologies. Building on the strong foundations we have established, we will continue to push the boundaries of innovation, strengthen our technical and global capabilities, and deliver high-impact solutions for our customers and partners.
From all of us at Inovor Technologies, thank you to our customers, partners, and friends for an incredible year. Reflecting, it’s clear that our greatest milestone isn’t a single mission. It’s the collective effort of a group of people who choose, day by day, to build a future worth aiming for. If this year is any indication, the chapters ahead will be remarkable!
Here’s to continued collaboration, revolution, and success in the dawn of 2026 and beyond!
