Adelaide, 25th July 2024 – LeoLabs, a U.S. company providing integrated solutions that persistently monitor activity in space, and Inovor Technologies, a South Australian based advanced small sat mission’s solutions provider, have announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the 17th Australian Space Forum in Adelaide, Australia. This MOU signifies their intent to collaborate on initiatives aimed at supporting a safe and sustainable space ecosystem.
The partnership will focus on exploring the integration of Inovor Technologies’ space-based surveillance data platform, ‘Hyperion’, with LeoLabs’ cutting-edge space radar data platform. This collaboration aims to enhance the capabilities of both platforms, providing comprehensive Space Situational Awareness (SSA) services ranging from LEO, MEO, GEO to CisLunar orbits.
Space Situational Awareness involves the detection, tracking, and characterization of objects in space, including satellites and debris. As the number of satellites and the amount of space debris continue to increase, SSA has become a critical concern for the global space industry. Effective SSA helps prevent collisions, mitigates risks, and ensures the long-term sustainability of space activities.
